

Ruth graduated from Mascot High School. She married Wilfrid Morin in 1947 and they moved to Columbus in 1957. Ruth has been a member of St. Mathias Church since 1958. She was a talented seamstress and applied her artistic side to making beautiful artificial floral arrangements and playing the piano by ear. Ruth was a huge dog lover and OSU Buckeye fan. She was a very strong woman, loving mother, and friend.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfrid Morin; second husband, Francis Schissler; parents, Ellsworth and Zaida Swindell; siblings, Laura (Bacil) Cowan, Frank Swindell, Dorothy (Louis) Poppert, Lois (John) Graf, Robert (Betty) Swindell, and Arlene (Raymond) Potter; brother-in-law, Don Henninger; special daughters, Cheryl Benson and Mary Lou Moore; and best friend, Mary Grooten.
Ruth will be missed by her loving daughter, Janet (Joe) Carpenter, special loved one, Victoria Jenkins; sisters, Margaret Henninger and Hazel (Beryl) Claar, sisters-in-law, Goldie Swindell and Cecilia Morin; numerous nieces and nephews, “other daughter” Becky Weaver; special son, Terry Moore; the Newman family; and her loving dog, Angie.
Family will receive friends Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mathias Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, Rev. James Smith, Celebrant. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
