

Ruth A. Schooley, age 85, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 surrounded by those who loved and cared for her. She has now rejoined her loving groom of 66 years, Howard, whom passed away on May 25, 2010. Founder and owner of Schooley’s Concessions with those famous Belgian Waffles they served at the Ohio State Fair. She enjoyed being a decorative cake baker and seamstress, especially known for the nightgowns she made. Ruth was born in Urbana, Ohio on May 28, 1925 to Arthur and Martha LaFayette. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard; her parents; children, Shirley Ann Schooley and Barbara Phillips. Also preceded in death by her two sisters, Bobbie and Mary; and one brother, Arthur. Ruth is survived by her youngest brother, Dick (Wanda) LaFayette, daughter, Linda (Dale) Johnston; son-in-law, Ed Phillips; grandchildren, Becky (Tom), Kelly (John), Michele (Robert), Kim (John), Eddie (Shannon) and Carl (Beth); great-grandchildren, Nikki, Alyssa, Lydia, Dustin, Justin, Latisha, Kalita, Cassidy, Perry, Melanie, Eric, Nathan, Mason and Chase; great-great grandchildren, Thomas and Madison. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; two step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. Ruth’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at InCare HHC. Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday, September 10, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held 10am Saturday, September 11, 2010. Fr.
