

Sally Ann Helwagen, 68, of Circleville, passed away at Emeritus of Pinnacle in Grove City on Saturday, October 4, 2014.
She was born February 21, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clarence E. and Rosemary (Brown) Linn.
She was a 1964 graduate of Circleville High School and a 1968 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught most of her 37 years at Mound Street Elementary in the Circleville City School System in which she retired in May 2006.
Sally was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and music; she played the baritone in the high school band and was an accomplished pianist in which she accompanied the elementary music programs during her teaching career.
Sally is survived by her husband of 45 years, R. Bruce Helwagen; her children, Christina L. (James) Chapman of Ashville and Scott E. (Amy) Helwagen of Circleville; four grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Chapman and Emma and Addison Helwagen; two sisters, Susannah (Robert) Kellough and Johanna Linn, both of Circleville; and two brothers, Jeffrey C. Linn of South Bloomfield and David Scott (Pamela) Linn of Circleville; brother-in-law, Stephen M. (Marcia) Helwagen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, Ohio. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
