Sandra Kay Ditschle died Tuesday, August 9th, at the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, where she was grateful for the care given by Todd Harding and Jackie Garman. Sandra was born May 22, 1943 to loving parents Ruah and Jack Ditschle, who preceded her in death.
Sandra was a graduate of Columbus North High School and The Ohio State University. She taught in the Columbus Public School system her entire career, 6 years at Linmoor Junior High and 27 years at Linden McKinley. While at Linden, she became one of the first female athletic directors in Ohio in 1974. She was a Jennings Scholar and received the Ashland Teaching Achievement Award, as well as several PTA Teacher of the Year honors.
She was supported by, and was grateful to, many loyal and special friends including Patty Adams, R.C. Bryant, Roxanne Bryant Cannon, Jeff Corbin, Pam Fay, Nick Macioci, Gatha Meadows, Marilyn Norris, Lenore Smart, Deb Shepherd, Mary Thomas, Patty Walker, Judy White and Jennie Wilson, as well as her friends from childhood – Joan Bodi, Barb Hissong, and Patti Paine.
Visitation will be at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, August 15, 20222. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10 am at Union Cemetery with Reverend Duane Flemming presiding.
