Savina Joan Gaietto Etzkorn

Savina Joan Gaietto Etzkorn passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2019, surrounded by loving family. She was born on January 27, 1928 in Tiffin, Ohio, daughter to John and Caterina (Gianola) Gaietto. She was a loving and devoted wife of 67 years to Urban Alphonse Etzkorn until his death in 2016. She is predeceased by her eight siblings, Michael, Dominic, Bernard, Joseph, and Francis Gaietto; Mary (Hossler), Angela (Waire) and Evelyn (Thorbahn).

Savina took great joy and pride in her six children Dr. Catherine (Jeffrey) Zahn, of Toronto, CA, Lynette (David) Wagner, of Shelby, OH, Joseph (Celeste) Etzkorn, of Loveland, OH, Randall (Karen) Etzkorn, of Venice, FL, David (Therese Kepes) Etzkorn, of Worthington, OH, and Laure (Michael) Schoedinger, of Upper Arlington, OH; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered for delighting her children and grandchildren with her lovely voice, and singing in church choirs for many years. One of her cherished moments was singing to the Pope with her choir at the Vatican. Savina was a generous school and hospital volunteer, organizing an early preschool program at St. Mary's and she made a major contribution to the founding, the growth and success of Etzkorn Insurance and Real Estate in Tiffin. She resided in Tiffin until 1990 when upon retirement, she and Urban moved to Venice, Florida. For the last three years, she resided in Worthington Christian Village, Worthington, Ohio. Private Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory, 1559 Roxbury Rd, Columbus, OH 43212. Celebrant Anthony Missimi. Interment St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.
