Scott was a graduate of Grand River Academy in 1979. After graduation, he worked for Bank One Trust before moving to Virginia and working in the ship yards.
Along with his parents, Scott is survived by his sister Melinda Fisher Bertl (Brooks); nieces, Madelyn Kay Bertl and Megan Anne Matte and many special friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Fisher Matte; grandparents Trent D. and Marjorie L. Sickles.
