Selena G Freeland

Selena G. Freeland, 65, of Groveport passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born on January 30, 1958 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Connie (Carpenter) and Paul Vlack. Selena was passionate about cooking. She generously gave her time providing meals for Hands for Homeless, food for children with A Heart Like His Foundation both while she lived in Florida, and gathered donations for Faith Mission in Ohio. Selena loved cruises, relaxing on the beach, spending time with her family and taking road trips. In addition to her parents, Connie and Paul, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Vlack. Selena is survived by her husband, John S. Freeland III whom she married on January 1, 2006; sister, Paula Fox (Gary); daughters, Megan Dunn (Kevin) and Erica Nagashima (Jun); step-daughters, Nicole Martin (Michael); Chris Howard (Tony), and Andrea Freeland (Tim); grandchildren, Olivia, Corinne, Kinleigh, Isabella, Khloe, Alexander, Rio, Benjamin, Christopher, Audrey, Alana, and Gabriel; nieces, Hannah, Abby, and Kailey; nephew, Mitchell; sister-in-law, Beth Nardi Vlack. Family will receive friends 2-5 pm Sunday, January 28th and 11 am-1 pm Monday, January 29th at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43232, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Private interment will take place at Lithopolis Cemetery on Tuesday, January 30th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ronald McDonald House, Columbus; Hands for Homeless, or A Heart Like His Foundation both in Florida.
