Our beloved Shane Tyler Boyd, 26, warm, loving, passionate, creative, dedicated, adventurous, with a playful sense of humor, whenever he had the chance to be, was senselessly taken too soon in a tragic road-rage altercation in the early hours of September 28, 2021.
Shane will be deeply missed by his loving parents Kim and Terry Boyd; sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, Amanda Boyd, Harry and Ryer Grafe; girlfriend Kaitlyn Benson, and their four shared pets, Scout, Willow, Marley, and Theo; Grandparents Toni and Larry Boyd; along with his many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and numerous friends and coworkers. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Darlene Beck.
Born March 8, 1995, Shane immediately became the light in our lives, and anyone he crossed paths with. He maintained strong relationships throughout his life with his family, and became an uncle in 2018, at which time he developed a deep connection with his nephew. During his most recent years spent in Ohio, he worked with his brother-in-law, as an electrician. He was also a talented and skilled woodworker, and had designed and crafted numerous pieces of furniture for family and friends. Shane's other lifelong passion was restoring classic cars, trucks and motorcycles; a love and hobby that Shane fondly shared with his father.
In early 2020, he moved down to St. Petersburg, Florida to be with the love of his life, his dearest Kaitlyn. Together they cultivated a life centered around their love for nature, their pets, and the many friendships that they shared. Through his most recent work at The Lure, in downtown St. Petersburg, he thrived as a bartender where he enjoyed making friends and people laugh, and making anyone smile with his quirky jokes and demeanor. He was full of a need and love for adventure, and lived his dream with much passion and fearlessness. Raised to love and appreciate nature, Shane was planning a life full of camping, traveling, adventure and fun.
Shane previously opted to be an organ donor, and in his passing, will graciously be giving another individual the gift of sight.
A celebration of the life of Shane Boyd was held at Fort De Soto Beach, Monday, October 4, 2021, at 2pm.
A memorial gathering and light reception will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, from 4-7PM at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio.
