DOJ/Office of the Solicitor General purchased the Grand Pedestal Basket for the family of Sharon Van Meter .

My sincere condolences to the Family.  I was glad to know and work with Sharon at the Department of Justice for many years.  She was always very pleasant and professional and was very well respected by many.  She will surely be missed and I'm thankful to have known her.  Willistine (Willie) Brown

Sharon was wonderful! 

She was my first "real" Secretary, at the Property and Procurement Staff of the US Department of Justice in 1979.  She taught me how important a secretary could be.  She was always pleasant and welcoming to everyone; she kept me on track; she always covered my back; and she was not afraid to close the door and tell me I was wrong.

And when I promoted her and put her in charge of monitoring staff finances, I never
had to say "no" to anyone again.  I just sent them to Sharon...who said "no" and convinced everyone that it was their idea!!!

She was a terrific lady.  The world is smaller and sadder today.

I was saddened to read of the loss of your loved one. When we lose our loved one in death it is the most difficult time in our life. However, there is loving comfort in Psalms 55:22 to “throw your burden on God and he will sustain you..” Yes, no matter what you are facing God is there to help you get through it. May you continue to have the love and support from family and friends. I sincerely hope that this Bible message brings you a measure of comfort during this difficult time.

Aunt Sharon, such an awesome, amazing, incredible woman. She meant so much to so many in so many different ways. She could go in to a room and not know one person. She would leave, having so much in common with many. 
She was so much more than "Aunt Sharon." She was a Mom, a Mother-in-law, a Grandma and a Great Grandma. She had many positions to fill, and was fantastic at them all. Mark and I have a son, Scott , his wife Abigail, their two children Parker William (age 2) and Annisyn Lee (age 1). I remember Mark calling her to tell her that she was going to be a Great Grandma. For the kids, that is what it was. I am so grateful that she was able to be at Parkers birthday party, just a little over 2 months ago. Also that she lived long enough to see Anni turn 1. Sharon had so many accomplishments throughout her life. She met so many wonderful people that became a big part of her life. Her career was tremendous in itself. We were so proud of her. How she enjoyed the First Ladies Luncheons. The group of ladies that would meet once a month for a meal. The  volunteering    that she did at her Church gift shop. And after her retirement, all of the many trips to different countries. That was so awesome. She was always here for us with Mark's health issues. She never hesitated to give of herself when there was a need. She was full of Love and compassion for us all. We all have incredible memories that I hope will bring us comfort and peace. She will be missed by us all.

Sharon, we love you so, so, so much. Thank you for being a part of our lives.

Sharon was my cousin, but she was more like a sister!  When she was in her early twenties, she lived with us in Germany for a short time.  I have many treasured memories of her over the decades.  She was very kind, patient and understanding.
She loved Jesus and his love shined through her.  May God Love, Bless and Keep all of the family and friends of Sharon, always and in all ways!!!  Amen!!!
