

Shelby Emerson Braskett, age 82 of Grove City, passed away November 4, 2010, at his residence. Son of Kermit and Nellie Braskett of Pickaway County. He was an employee of Grove City Farmers Exchange and Champaign Landmark for 41 years. He also was a farmer for most of that time. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Grove City. He was a longtime usher and enjoyed being a member of the Chapel Sunday School class. Franklin County Dartball League was his favorite way to spend Thursday evenings. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; children, Lorna McMillin, Nancy (Bill) Brandt, and James Braskett, all of Grove City. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Karl and Sheldon, and is survived by one brother, Pearl. He has 6 grandchildren, Daniel McMillin, Michelle Burr, Amanda Peterson, Rebecca Hockenbrock, Mark Brandt, and Leanne Brandt. He enjoyed 8 great grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus St., Grove City, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Donald Allman officiating. Interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery.
