Shin was an amazing person, the best man at my wedding, and my best friend.  I spent most of my high school years with Shin.  He was such a talented and generous guy.  I have so many amazing memories with him: learning the guitar, learning to ski, racing together, buying a mountain bike and spending hours on the trails, time at his cottage, eating rice and amazing left-overs at his family home.  He was great at sharing his passions with others and just being the most genuine friend.  His friendship has brought such joy to me.  I’ve lost a big connection to my formative years with his passing and feel we are all suffering a huge loss.  I’ve never met anyone like him who is so humble yet gifted and able to positively impact an entire community.  We’ve all been so blessed by him.  I wish we could have another 40 years of Shin making this world a better place.  My sincere condolences to Bree, Kai, Ayla and the entire Iisaka family.

Condolences to Bree, Kai and Ayla.  We have always enjoyed seeing Shin and his family as part of our Canadian Christmas celebration.  He always brought a warmth and gentle humor to the get together and was clearly loved by his entire family. Beautiful in Blue was purchased for the family of Shin Iisaka.

He was 63 miles from 2020. He kept letting our #pelotonia2020 team know it too 🤣! He sent screenshots to our IM group and during our 1st #socialdistancing meeting he was excited and sharing how much he was cycling since the 1st of the yr. Barely saw anyone for months due to working from home. Popped into the office 1x last week, ran into Shin. He said, "Hey Beth!" One of the only managers that ever said 'hi' first. Little did I know that would be it. Rest in peace Shin.Thank you again for your kindness and openness as a human. I am not an easy person to get to know, but you became my friend. Im grateful.

Shin was always a bright spot in my day, whether in passing at the water cooler or chatting at lunch.  He made it impossible to hold on to a bad mood.  Knowing him has inspired me to get outside of myself, pay attention to those around me, and appreciate the many blessings in my life.  Thank you, Shin!

I met Shin the first day of high school in Ottawa and he became a lifelong friend.  My house was on the way home from school and Shin would often stop by, even daily. He would play guitar in the living room and soon became part of my family.  My whole family loved him and we are all deeply saddened by his death. It feels like loosing a brother and I wish I could tell Shin how much I appreciated him. I am hoping he can sense our love and appreciation for him now.  He was such a nice guy to be around, with a great smile and laugh. We have so many good memories of being with him.  The world feels very different without Shin, even from afar.  My heartfelt condolences to Bree, Kai, Alya and the Iisaka family from myself and all the King family.
