Shirley J Nixon

A funeral service for Shirley J. Nixon, 58, will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:00AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.

Mrs. Nixon was born in Newark, Ohio on November 29, 1950 to Betty Snyder and the late James W. Mohler Sr. She passed away at her residence on August 4, 2009 while surrounded by her caring family.

Shirley and her husband were owner’s of Uptown Pizza. Late in life she managed Northend Pizza and was a waitress for Helen’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Druids. Shirley had several passions; she enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and house plants. She spent a lot of happy times at Chances Are and Wheeling Island Casino. Shirley had many friends who she held very dear to her heart and truly loved.

Along with her mother, survivors include her husband Fred Nixon of 10 years; children; Mike Bush, Lisa (Richard) Gulick , Bruce Bush, Fred Nixon, Bill Nixon. Shirley had 11 grand children; one special sister Joyce Mort (Bob Juracek) of Idaho; sister in law and friend Judy Nixon; and loving dog Fancy.

Along with her father, Shirley is also preceded in death by her brother James Mohler, her step mother Mary Mohler, and grandson Larry Holbrook Jr.

In lue of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio. A special thanks to her sister Joyce for the love and care that she gave to Shirley in her last days
