Shirley was born in Newark on Nov 1, 1957 to Ernest and Kay (Carrel) Powell. She died Friday May 11, 2012 at her home in Newark. She was 54.
She is preceded in death by her mother Kay; many aunts, uncles and her grandparents and her cousins.
Shirley is survived by her father Ernest (Janet) Powell of Newark, her brother Mark Powell and her sister Sharon Ferguson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and deaf friends. She enjoyed reading and doing artwork, and attending Church.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
