Shirley Jean Richardson was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1963 to James Richardson Jr. and Shirley Richardson. She graduated from Cody High School in Detroit. She earned her associate's degree from Columbus State Community College.
Shirley passed away peacefully on March 24, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio. She was a devoted mother to her children Brittany and Joshua. She was also a loving daughter, sister, and friend. Shirley worked for the YMCA of Central Ohio for several years and was a dedicated instructional assistant for Columbus City Schools.
A memorial service celebrating Shirley's life will take place on Saturday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stonybrook United Methodist Church located at 485 Cherry Bottom Road in Gahanna, Ohio. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made in honor of Shirley to South Mifflin Elementary School, 2365 Middlehurst Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43231.
