Shyla L. Lanthorn

Shyla Lee Lanthorn, age 82, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was born October 10, 1935 in Richmond, Indiana to the late William and Irma (Diltz) Kettler. Shyla graduated from Columbus South High School and was a faithful member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church where she worked as the church secretary for many years. Prior to that, she worked for F & R Lazarus and Gold Circle Department Stores. Shyla was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wayne Lanthorn, in 2011 as well as her brother Ronald. Surviving are her daughter, Debra Lynne (Trent) Newman; sons, Clifford William (Claudia) Lanthorn and David Wayne Lanthorn; grandchildren, Chad, Brent (Tina) and Drew (Kristin) Newman, Stephanie (Mike) Grieshop, Abby and Karlee Lanthorn and their mother Sherri; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Natalie, Hunter, Beckett, Logan, Talia, William, Juliana, Harley and Savannah; brother, Jack (Pat) Kettler; sisters-in-law, Rita Kettler and Betty Jo (Joseph) Mangia; other relatives and good friends. Family will receive friends 2-5pm Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where services will be held at 10am Monday; interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
