Socorro Sheehan

Socorro Sheehan, age 93, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020. She was born in Costa Rica one of six children of the late Santana Viquez and Ines Gomez. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Sheehan. She is survived by her daughter, Cora Sheehan Stroup; and granddaughter, Jaqueline Stroup. Socorro was a natural athlete. Before moving to the United States, she played professional soccer in Costa Rica. She also enjoyed playing golf. She was very mechanical and loved working on projects. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing with Ronald, and many other activities. First and foremost she loved being a mother and was a wonderful Mama and Nana. Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the HEART AND HOPE BY SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 3030 West Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43204. Please wear a mask and social distancing will be observed. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 12:00PM at Woodlawn Cemetery located at the corner of Woodlawn Street and HWY 77 in Ohio City, Ohio 45874.
