

Sonel Eugene, 73, was born in Aucaye, Haiti. He was a strong and disciplined man whose presence commanded respect and whose legacy will live on through generations.
Sonel believed deeply in hard work, responsibility, and providing for his family both here and back home.
He carried a quiet humor and a deep love for those closest to him. Together with his devoted wife, Clotilde, Sonel proudly owned Chez Clotilde, a beloved Haitian restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 20 yrs, community, and connection that reflected his dedication to his roots and his people.
Despite his tough exterior, Sonel found joy in dancing kompa with his wife, moments filled with music, laughter, and love. Those memories remain treasured by all who witnessed their bond.
Sonel survived by his beloved wife, Clotilde of 49 yrs, and his children Betty, Ronald, Clotaire, Mario, Makenson, Gina, Nadia, Sony, Darline, Robinson, Frenel David, and his 28 grandchildren who will carry forward his strength, values, and name. He is also survived by his two brothers, Nozier, Wilfrid, and older sister Ejenie.
Sonel was loved and will be missed by his family and the entire community.
A visitation will take place at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger North, located at 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, OH 43229, on December 17, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229, on December 18, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
The graveside committal will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213, on December 18, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
