Sophia Lewis

Sophia Corinne Lewis, 18, passed away December 9, 2021, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Sophia graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School and earned her culinary certificate from Eastland Career Center.

Sophia touched the world with her beautiful spirit that could be described as a grandmotherly wisdom– sometimes blunt, always right on time and forever with the most love. She loved arts & crafts, food, cooking, and most of all her friends and family.

Even after her cancer diagnosis, Sophia lived a life full of grace and joy and always had a bright beautiful smile. She was able to do this because of the support and love from all her family and friends.

Special thanks to her medical team at NCH, her Homecare team, the staff and teachers at Gahanna and Eastland, NC4K, AngelWorks, and her support warriors. Forever SophiaStrong.

Sophia is survived by her mother and father, Samantha Banks and Randy Lewis; her sisters, Shyanne (Benjamin) Fryson, Alex, and Sydney. She also leaves her maternal grandparents, Stephanie and Larry Tunia-Jackson; paternal grandparents, Sena Dublin and Andrew Lewis; great-grandparents Jason (Ella) Lewis; her nephews, Ezekiel and Theodore Fryson; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her best fur friends, Nino and Coco.

Sophia was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard Banks and Edward Dublin.

A private Celebration of Life reception will be held for her family and friends.
