Souren Soumbatiants, age 45, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Moscow, Russia where he graduated from Moscow State University with an honor Diploma, attended the University of Texas in Dallas and the University of South Carolina in Columbia before he became a Professor of Economics at Franklin University for the past 9 years. Souren is preceded in death by his mother, Tatiana Solovyeva. He is survived by his father, Ruben Sumbatiants; sister, Anna Altynova; nephew, Alexey Solovyev. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. to celebrate Souren's life.
