

Stella B. Burch, age 94, passed away at Mount Carmel East Hospital on Monday, October 28, 2024. She was born in Bidwell, Ohio on September 3, 1930 to the late Ezra and Lottie (Deed) Rippey. Stella graduated from Bidwell Porter High School and moved to Columbus where she met the love of her life, Walter F. Burch, Sr. They were married for 52 years until his death in 2010. Stella worked for many years at the Lincoln Leveque Tower. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle Ministries under the direction of the late Bishop George Ware. Stella was a fantastic cook known for her potato salad and BBQ sauce. She enjoyed shopping, reading her Bible, and was a prayer warrior for everyone she knew. In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Burch, Sr.; son, Walter “Butch” Burch, Jr.; three brothers, Wilbur, Elmer, and James “Billy”; two sisters, Margaret and Bernastine. She is survived by her sister, Glenna Logan; special nieces and nephew, Hope Rippey, Iris Rippey, Pam (Wyman) Figgins, and Robert Rippey; a host of other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great grand-nieces, great grand-nephews; Stella’s Godsons, honorable Apostle Turner Edmond and his wife Pastor Linda Edmond, Dexter (Tammy) Collins, Brandon Collins, Danny (Frankei) Thaggard, Rick Smith and Ronald (Niecey) Thompson and two best friends, Dorothy Smith and Charles Shamlee. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jill from the Passport Agency; Lori, Tracy, and Dee from Mt. Carmel Hospice; beloved Home Health Services and staff and the Home Vision Healthcare Agency and their staff. Family will receive friends 10 am – 11 am Friday, November 8, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where the Homegoing service will begin at 11 am. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
