

Stephanie A. Eckstine, age 35, of Obetz, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio. A devoted mom, daughter, sister and aunt, Stephanie will be sorely missed by her children, Jaila McBride, Jovon McBride and Jaleesa Whitehead; father, Ronald Eckstine and his girlfriend, Ginny McElhinny; stepmother, Kathy Lockhart and her husband Gary; “bonus dad”, Larry McManus; her sisters and brother, Ashleigh Henderson, Arica Paisley, Christina Marie (Marc) Woodrum, Valerie (Marco) Pickenpaugh and Schyuler (Jennifer) Paisley; nieces, Kayli Soublet, Zaionna Caldwell, Zaierra Caldwell, Marlie Shope, Charlotte Paisley-Payne, Haley Speigle, Nevaeh Nesser, Leia Paisley; nephews, Blake Woodrum and Mark Nesser; maternal grandmother, Delores Stuller and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice (Tigner) Slabaugh; paternal grandparents, William “Bill” Eckstine and Giovanna “Wanda” Eckstine; maternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” Tigner; niece, A’Tayia Nichols and nephew, Nofeir Cannon. Also preceded in death by many beloved extended family members. Steph loved being a mom to her children and the “unofficial mom” for the Hamilton Township High School boys basketball team. She had a feisty, goofy, stubborn side who was always smiling, kind, giving and never met a stranger. She enjoyed family game nights and watching crime, mystery shows and Snapped.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 17, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where friends may call from 1:00-2:00 Saturday. The family has requested in honor of Stephanie please wear bright colored clothing to her Celebration- golden yellow, bright green, and orange to name a few colors.
