Stephen William McFarland, 74, of Gahanna, passed away at his residence on June 4, 2018. Born December 24, 1943 in Columbus to the late Frank and Ethel (Kemp) McFarland, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Pat and Barb. Stephen graduated from New Albany High School and then spent six years in the United States Army Reserves. He was co-owner of Kemp Brothers Roofing for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. His marriage to Alice Faye Wallace, who survives, lasted 50 years. Also surviving are children William (Nancy) Smith, Kathy Ramos and Frank (Amanda) McFarland; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren with one on the way, and siblings Betty, Mary and Howard. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 11-1PM with a funeral service at 1PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna with interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery to include military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to VFW Post 4719.
