Stephen R. Miles died August 20, 2013 at Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He was born in licking County, Ohio on September 19, 1943 to George H. and Edna Marie (Rutledge) Miles. His siblings are William E. Miles of Canal Winchester, Mary M. (Miles) Daniels of Reynoldsburg and Rolan Dean (Pat) Miles of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Barbara and Georgann.
To Steve relationships with his siblings, nieces and nephews and their families were very important. He had also been heard to say recently that his friends were like family to him particularly those out on Casswell Road Johnstown. He would want it said that he was grateful for and appreciative of all of his family.
He spent a major part of his life in Johnstown, graduating from The Johnstown Monroe High School in 1962. He had been a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church for over fifty years. He at one time served as a volunteer on the local fire department.
Steve felt that a major plus in his life was when he began his varied work and friendships at the Johnstown Independent newspaper. His time in the United States Air Force was also in the printing trade. Later he committed his work relationships to The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) print shop from which he retired in 2011.
Steve was a firm believer in the foundations of The Republican Party and dedicated much of his adult life to their principals and activity. He worked hard for that which he believed.
