

Stephen L. “Steve” Mumaw, 62, of Circleville, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family, after an extended illness. He was born August 6, 1953 in Circleville the son of Harold “Jack” and Nellie (Wolfe) Mumaw, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven L. Mumaw; and brother, Harold “Rick” Mumaw, Jr. Steve was a self-employed owner/operator of a dump truck and worked for Melvin Stone.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Scarberry) Mumaw; daughters, Stephanie (Tim Wells) Haddox of West Virginia and Kimberly (Bryan) Sowers of Circleville; son, Donald (Teresa) Thompson of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tyler & Mayson Haddox, Tiffany & Tyler Sowers and Phil & Matt Detillion; great-grandson, Cash Detillion; sisters, Wendy “Suggie” (Craig) Noble and Debbie (Dave) McCabe; brother, Jonathon Mumaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was a happy-go-lucky, mellow guy who loved to dance and enjoyed his family, especially his grandkids. He and Dorothy loved camping and fishing at Lake White, going to Las Vegas with friends and having family cookouts.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger with Rev. Maurice Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
