Steven J. Miller

A memorial service for Steven J. Miller, age 61, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, Newark, where the family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Celebrant Andrew Hoover will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Steve was born October 18, 1952 in Newark, Ohio to the late Raymond Leroy and Virginia (Pettit) Miller. He passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at his home.

Steve retired from R & R Pipeline where he worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing and shooting.

He is survived by five children, Jamey L. Miller of Atlanta, GA, Steven J. “Dink” Miller, Jr., Sean Miller, Teresa (Chris) McCollum and Rhonda Shaner, all of Newark; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bonner, Katlin McCollum, Nicholas McElfresh and Austin Kessinger; a great-grandson, Mahkye Kimball; brother, Skip (Mary) Miller of Newark; sister, Theresa Kurtz of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Miller, on October 10, 2012.
