Steven Craig Pettibone

Steven Craig Pettibone, age 64 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. Steven was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Alston "Deac" and Londa Pettibone. Also preceded in death by the love of his life and center of his world, wife, Janet Pettibone and brother, Terry Pettibone. Steven graduated with a BS in Biology from The Ohio State University and went on to attend classes towards his Masters at Bowling Green University. It was there where he met his beloved Janet and the two of them went on to share a beautiful life together. Steven retired from Ohio State University Medical Center where he worked as a well-respected respiratory therapist for over 25 years. Steven was funny, intelligent and compassionate. He was a tremendous Buckeye fan who was famous for his delicious cheesecakes. He enjoyed cooking and baking, reading the newspaper from cover to cover, drawing and painting, and listening to music. Above all else, family was the most important thing in Steven's life and sharing time together with them took precedence over anything. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughters, Jennifer Pettibone and Megan (Josh) Liebert; granddaughter, Marley Liebert; siblings, Tom and Scott (Joanie) Pettibone; sister-in-law, Martha Pettibone; nephews, Andy, Alex (fiancé, Brittany Husch), Joe, Shawn (Neeka), Michael, and Mathew Pettibone; great nieces, Sadie and Mia Pettibone; special cousins, Alma and Paul Hochuli; and extended family, Tom, Maria, Anna, and Marcus Caplin and both the Ross and Long families. Family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Rd. Father M. Edmund Hussey Celebrant.
