

Steven Jeffrey Schakett, age 60, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his home. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 25, 1951 to the late Jacob and Bessie (Edelstein) Schakett. Steven was a 1969 graduate of Eastmoor High School. He attended Franklin University. He was the owner/operator of Progress Sign Engraving for 31 years. He also worked at CVS and St. Ann’s Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Ellen Mastellarini; brother, Stuart D. (Tammy J.) Schakett; special cousin, Elaine (George) Sheppard; sister in-law, Silvia (Richard) Ray; niece, Sonia (Josh) Walker; nephew, Nicholas Ray; and special friends who faithfully visited Steven: Ron Gordon, Jay Jordan, Marilynn Seamans and Paul Clark; and caregiver, Pandora Young. He was an avid boater and motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed photography and was a master craftsman. Steven loved life and lived it to its fullest. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 3:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Rabbi Harold J. Berman officiating. Interment will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the family’s home the day of the funeral only.
