

Steven Dwight “Stevo” Willis, age 52 of Columbus, passed away June 27, 2011. Steve was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Harry and Nancy Willis. Also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mark Barber. Steve was an ornery man who had a great sense of humor and likes to tease and play jokes on family and friends. In his younger years, Steve was a Little League pitcher and played for the Pataskala Banking Company. He also enjoyed listening and playing music. He was a self-taught drummer who liked classic rock and had previously played in a garage band. For more than 25 years, Steve was a member of AA, a program that he was very devoted to and worked religiously. He possessed an unforgettable hand shake, loved spending time with his family, and was a very compassionate man. He will be missed by his siblings, Paula (Larry) Zimmerman, Kelly Barber, Leslie (Gary) Willis, Tony (Jennifer) Willis, and Bruce (Tiffany) Willis; 9 nieces and nephews; loving companion, Peggy Maul; AA Sponsors, John and Chet; many companions at Barnett Plaza; dear friends, the Blake brothers and Michelle Nelson; and numerous other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at BORING-SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 108 North 7th Street, Hebron, where family will receive friends from 1-3 P.M. Friday and 11 A.M. until the time of service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, family requested that donations be made to Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
