It is with profound sadness that the family of Summer Jane Frost shares the news of her unexpected passing on March 30, 2021. Summer was preceded in death by her father, Jack M Frost, Sr. and survived by her mother, Barbara, and brother, Jack. Summer will be lovingly remembered by her niece, Lisa Brad and nephews, John Martha and Jeffrey as a caring aunt who loved them as if they were her own children. Summer will also be forever remembered by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Born on May 22, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, Summer grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After graduating Bowling Green High School, she attended the Stenotype Institute of Jacksonville Florida pursuing certification to become a court reporter. Upon completion, she moved back to Columbus to be near her parents and family. For many years she was a valued employee of Benchmark Title Agency and later, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. Summer enjoyed sharing her gifts with family and friends, particularly her talent for needlework, crafting, and baking. There was nothing she loved more than family reunions and get-togethers with friends and coworkers, especially during holidays and birthdays - being together, laughing, and sharing stories were what she cherished, most. And, of course, watching those Ohio State Buckeyes! The relationship Summer had with her mother, Barbara, was unlike any other. Not only was she a caring daughter, she was a friend, confident, and ultimately her caregiver for the last 12 years. Summer wanted nothing more than for her mother to be happy and content in her later years. When you think of Summer, remember her laugh and sense of humor, her loyalty to family and friends, and her caring personality. Celebrate the good memories you have of her. And remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 4 - 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, and again Monday, April 12, from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m.; Mark Dettmer to officiate. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery 3840 Sunbury Rd, Columbus. A livestream of the service will be available at www.schoedinger.com for those unable to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Summer's name to: Choice Women's Emergency Shelter, PO Box 06157, Columbus, Ohio, 43206, or The Homeless Families Foundation, 33 N. Grubb St., Columbus, Ohio, 43215.
