Susan “Sue” Staker (Dill), 66, of Upper Arlington, OH, passed away at home, in the arms of her husband, while surrounded by family on April 15th, 2023. She fought Lewy Body Dementia for almost 19 years with astounding grace and dignity.
Sue was born January 2nd, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Kettering Fairmont West High School in 1975. In 1979, she received her Bachelor’s in Special Education from Bowling Green State University, where she was also a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After college, Sue worked as a special education teacher at West Central School, where she loved her kids like her own. Following her teaching career, she dedicated her time to being the best mom and wife to her two kids and husband. Sue loved gardening, music, dance, cheering on the Buckeyes, boating, water skiing, hiking, and exploring no trespassing areas. Her life was the perfect example of selflessness, punctuated by her final act of dedicating her brain to research.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Dill. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 43 years, Scott Staker, as well as her children, Ashley (Rob) Gregory and Jonathan (Nicole) Staker. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
