Suzane J. Park, known by friends and family as Sue and as Grammy by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2023 at the age of 91. Sue was born in Davenport, Iowa November 26th, 1932 where she grew up with her grandmother, Margaret Bateman, mother, Helen Bateman Jacobs, and brother, Warren Jacobs. She moved to Wooster, OH to attend The College of Wooster where she met her husband of 59 years, Rev Francis Park, Presbyterian minister. Sue, lover of learning and teaching, taught English as her first job, then proudly became a “minister's wife”, moving to Fredricktown, OH, Canton, OH, Elmira, NY, Columbus, OH, Sun City and Scottsdale, AZ, supporting Fran’s work in the Church through her own commitment to several ministries, such as Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and generous charitable giving. Sue was an avid reader, crossword puzzle wiz, and shuffleboard champion. She loved traveling the world, enjoyed classical music, knitting and sewing, ringing bells in every church bell choir she could, and spending time with her loving family often. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Fran Park in 2011. Sue was mother to Ann Wade, Cathy Park, and Andy Park (deceased), and grandmother to Tommy and Matthew Viers, Kadie, Megan, and Ali Koeneman, great grandmother to Logan and Carson Viers. Sue’s family proudly wishes to carry on her silly and goofy nature, incredible generosity, commitment to lifelong learning, and cherishing time with family.
