Sylvia Jester

Sylvia A. Jester, 79, of Powell, passed away on March 28, 2021, at Riverside Hospital. Sylvia was born on September 27, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic School grades 1 thru 8 and then she graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School in 1959. While in high school, Sylvia worked part-time at the Kroger Grocery Store in the Great Western Shopping Center where she met her future husband, Don Jester. Sylvia went to work for Ohio Bell Telephone Co., the day after graduation. She transferred to Illinois Bell when she and her husband moved to Illinois. Upon retirement, Sylvia and her husband Don moved back to Powell, Ohio. Sylvia is survived by her sister Alice (Paul) Duemmel, Jr.; niece, Kathleen (Guy) Thomas, nephew, Paul (Lyn) Duemmel III, nephew, Robert (Kelly) Little, Jr.; great-nephew, Carl Little; great nieces, Ellie (Dan) Coyne, twin great-nieces, Allison and Katelyn Duemmel, great-nephew, Darrek Deffenbaugh, great­great-nephew, Jaxson Coyne, great-great-niece Daisy Coyne; very special friend, Stella Dickman; sister-in-law, JoAnne Jester of Charlotte, NC, nieces, Kristen (Erik) Jester Opland of Norway, Karyn Jester of Charlotte, NC; great-niece, Lily Jester-Opland. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Donald Jester; parents Glen (Ines) Bryan, and Anna Bryan, her sisters Glenna Bryan and Linda Bryan Little, her great-great niece Penelope Coyne, and her brother-in-law, Albert Jester of Charlotte, NC. Family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Monday, April 5 at Schoedinger Dublin Funeral Home, 5980 Perimeter Dr., Dublin, Ohio. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6 at 11am at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43017. Celebrant Msgr. Joseph Hendricks. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High St., Lewis Center, Ohio.
