

Teckla was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 19, 1929 to the late Fallon and Marie Sharkey. She graduated from Fairfield High School. Teckla married Donald “Don” Rohrkemper. They moved around the country and the world with Don’s career, including Cincinnati, Seattle, Chicago, Columbus, Singapore and Zurich. Their love of traveling has influenced their family into the third generation. They retired to Columbus to be with their daughter and grandchildren and where Teckla became involved in many social activities, such as golf and bridge. Teckla loved to garden. Her love of gardening has been carried down to her daughter and grandchildren. They were members of St. Elizabeth parish and later participated in Communion Services at Westerwood. On behalf of the Rohrkemper family, a special thank you to all of the nurses, Chaplain, aides and staff of Capital City Hospice for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to Teckla.
In addition to her parents, Teckla is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Sharkey and her sister, Helen Vornheder.
Teckla is survived by her husband, Don Rohrkemper; her daughter, Mary (Steven) Hatcher; her grandchildren, Aaron (Jenifer) Hatcher, Benjamin (Jami Velker) Hatcher, and Shana (Sharad) Thadani; her great-grandchildren, Alex and Adam Hatcher, Maya and Helena Thadani; and many other relatives and friends.
Family will accept friends for a Celebration of Life from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Friendship Hall at Westerwood, 5800 Forest Hills Blvd, Columbus, Ohio. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus, Ohio with Father Anthony Davis celebrating. A luncheon will follow mass.
Cremation services entrusted to Advantage by Schoedinger North. Her urn will be set to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
