Theola "Teddi" Wafe

Theola "Teddi" Wafe, 84, of New Albany, passed away August 22, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Webster Groves, Missouri on May 24, 1933, she was preceded in death by parents William and Lillian (Rice) Shaver, brother William D. Shaver, and her loving husband, Glenn, of 63 years in 2013.

She is survived by children Sharon (Neal) Bockmiller, Mark (Diana) Wafe, Bruce Wafe and Donna (Scott) Meredith.

Theola and Glenn met at the age of 16 in Missouri at a roller skating rink, remained together for 63 years, and moved to Ohio in 1960 to follow Glenn's job. Together they raised a family. Along the way, Teddi worked for 30 years at ATandT, where she met a group of friends who became as much a family to her as her own. She possessed a great sense of humor, turning from tears to laughter in the blink of an eye. She and Glenn loved to golf (and fight) together, always eventually seeing eye to eye on swings and strokes. She loved the 19th hole, a good happy hour, a glass of wine, and any episode of Gunsmoke.

Visitation from 3-5PM with a memorial service at 5PM will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna with Celebrant Mark Dettmer officiating.
