

Thomas Joseph Blubaugh fought the good fight and finished the race, crossing the threshold of Heaven on Monday, May 30, 2016. Thomas retired in 1989 from a successful career with Prudential Life Insurance Co. after 32 years of service. Following retirement, he and his wife, Pat, spent many years traveling with the Airstream Club, after which he gave his time as a volunteer at the OSU James Cancer Hospital and Crime Stoppers for 22 years, receiving notable awards for his dedication and service. Thomas was a selfless man who only thought of others and always made time for everyone. He was a humble man of deep faith, courage, strength, charity, and great wisdom. Having always had a heart for the missions, he financially supported the seminary formation of two priests from India. He had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Holy Rosary, and attended Mass daily at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Gahanna. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Mary; his brother, Jack; sister, Rosemary Lehner; and grandson, USMC LCpl. Ryan Miller. His greatest pride and joy in life was his beautiful family. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Pat; his nine children, Terri (Van) Ambrose, Mike (Mary), Kathie (John) Masters, Mary Lynn (Ed) Miller, Patrick, Janet (Kenny) Fife, Judi (Mike) Lisi, Carol (Dave) Bender, and David; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim, Danny, and Steve (Gayle); and many dear nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon Friday, June 3 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna. Fr. Theodore K. Sill, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, 801 Dominican Dr., Nashville, TN 37228-1909.
