

Thomas (Tom) Edwin Colston, age 91, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away Sunday Evening January 10, 2010 at his home in the loving presence of his wife and son. Tom was born November 2, 1918 in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, son of the late Rev. Jessie F. Colston, Sr. and Marian Watson Colston. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law John Leroy Winton, by twin brother Jessie F. Colston, Jr. and sister-in-law Lida Colston, brother Fred L. Colston, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ernest and Ohnalene Cole. He is survived by sister Margaret Hester and brother Rev. Otis Colston.
Tom leaves behind a loving family including his wife of nearly 65 years Yetta Maxine Winton Colston, his son John T. Colston, daughter-in-law Ann Colston, a granddaughter, 2 grandsons, a granddaughter-in-law, and eight great-grandchildren.
Tom was a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in accounting and education and taught business education in the Dayton, Ohio area for over 20 years, concluding his teaching career at Sinclair Community College. He lived in Brookville, Ohio for that period of time and was active in The Christ Baptist Church. He was also actively involved during that time frame in the work of Gideon International. Tom retired and moved to Reynoldsburg in 1982 and became active in The Reynoldsburg Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Calling hours are 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Schoedinger East Chapel located at 5360 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Additional visiting hours will be offered on Friday, January 15, 2010 at The Reynoldsburg Baptist Church from 9:45 AM to 10:15AM preceding the funeral service which will commence at 10:30 AM. The church is located at 887 Rosehill Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Tom will be buried at the Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W. V. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 following a short memorial service at the Woodmere Mausoleum scheduled for 11:30 AM.
