

Tom was born September 2nd, 1954 in Ford City, Pennsylvania to Edward and Genevieve Lefchik. He graduated from Penn State University in 1976 with a BS in civil engineering. He met his life-long love, Diane, at Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta and they married in 1978. They moved to Ames, Iowa; Topeka, Kansas; Springfield, Illinois, and Gahanna, Ohio where they resided for 28 years.
Tom loved the Lord with all his heart, faithfully loved his wife and children, and worked diligently in all that he did. He was an assistant bridge engineer with the Federal Highway Administration for 34 years, and a project manager with the Ohio Department of Transportation the past 6 years. He was always fixing something or helping someone, and he enjoyed camping, hiking, and gardening. Everyone knew him as a consistent man of prayer, caring and full of humor.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Diane Lefchik (Thiele). He is survived by his two children, Christopher Lefchik, Hannah (Joe) Helpman; his grandson, Ellis Helpman; and his three siblings, Dennis Lefchik, Gerald (Karolyn) Lefchik, Janet Lodie.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 7th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43230; the service will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 1pm, with an hour prior of visiting.
