Thomas Grady McGee

Thomas Grady McGee, age 76, of Columbus, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Zusman Hospice after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 17, 1936 in Lancaster, SC to the late Willie L. and Bertha L. (Knight) McGee. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Libby Williams-Long; brothers-in-law, Joe Dippolito and Clarence Williams. He is survived by brothers, Marion (Lib) McGee of Lancaster, SC, and Bill (Esther) McGee; sisters, Bobbi (Ralph) Abbruzzese, Margaret (John) Seitz and Carol Dippolito; uncle, Bob Knight of Lancaster, SC; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Grady was a graduate of Aquinas High School and St. Patrick’s Grade School. He served in the Ohio Air National Guard and Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War. Grady worked for over 27 years at Eastern Air Lines. He retired from The Ohio State University Hospital, where he worked in facilities maintenance after nineteen years. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 4-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A graveside service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Resurrection Cemetery 9571 N. High St. Lewis Center, OH. Memorial donations may be made to the James Cancer Hospital. The family wishes to convey special thanks to the wonderful care givers of O.S.U. James Cancer Hospital and the Zusman Hospice.
