
A funeral service for Thomas M. Reynolds, 82 of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, with the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance providing military honors.
Thomas was born in Jackson, Ohio on June 27, 1927 to the late Willard B. and Mary V. (Stiffler) Reynolds. He passed away at his residence on March 3, 2010 while surrounded by his family.
Thomas graduated from Jackson High School. He joined the United States Army and the Merchant Marines, proudly serving his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served on many ships in the Atlantic and South Pacific. After his military service, he graduated from engineering school in Chicago, Ill. He worked as a tool and die maker and a design engineer with Varo Engineering, where he was instrumental in the design of the Kodak instant camera. He worked for Varo Engineering for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed and collected cast medal cars and coins. He was a member of the American Legion Post #888 in Delaware, Ohio. Most important in his life was spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Phillip) Disterdick of Little Rock, Arkansas and Patricia (John) Keller of Newark; three sons, Thomas M. Reynolds, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Timothy B. Reynolds of Philadelphia, PA and Benton Reynolds of Buckeye Lake; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three nieces and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancinel (Kraus) Reynolds in 2003, whom he married on July 5, 1952; and two brothers, Willard and Robert Reynolds.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Thomas to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
