

Thomas E. Stivison, 66, of Dublin, was called home to his Lord and Savior, February 2, 2012. He was born September 27, 1945 in Athens, Ohio, the middle of three children. Tom was a 1963 graduate of Logan High School, received his Bachelors from Olivet Nazarene College, and went to pursue his Masters at Ohio University. During his schooling at Olivet Nazarene College, Tom met Cookie. Following their marriage, Tom went to work for his father at Hocking Poultry. Later he went to work for Cookie’s father at Columbus Equipment Company. Tom worked in many capacities over his past 41 year career, in recent years as the Company President. Tom was a tremendous Christian and touched many people through his years in the Nazarene faith. Tom participated in many roles in his church including choir director, Sunday school superintendant, and Sunday school teacher. Tom was a member of the Northwest Church of the Nazarene. Tom enjoyed spending his free time antiquing and frequenting flea markets. Over time he collected many treasures. Tom was a dedicated, driven worker who was passionate about setting an example and passing along his work ethic to his family. Tom loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He supported them, and enjoyed attending their events. He cherished annual vacations with his entire immediate family. Watching all the grandchildren playing with each other gave him great joy. Tom loved to sing and was recognized by his whistle, suspenders, and bow ties.
He was a deep thinker, very caring, generous, true, never wavered in his beliefs, and was steadfast in his honesty and integrity. Proceeded in death by his father, Ross Stivison. Tom will be missed by his loving wife and best friend of 44 years, Cookie; his mother Forrest Stivison, daughters, Cara (Tim) Albright, Nicole (Tom) Sparling, Alyson (Rich) Schell; son, Josh (Shannon) Stivison; grandchildren, Gabbey, Cole, Peter, and Will Albright, Tommy and Genevieve (on the way) Sparling, Hunter, Hayden, Hudson, and Holden Schell, and Clay and Brock Stivison, sisters Sally Weghorst (Fred), Candy McClaid, and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m and Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Columbus (Just south of I-270). Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 8th 11:00 a.m. at DUBLIN BAPTIST CHURCH, 7195 Coffman Road Dublin, Ohio.
