

Thomas Taylor Stout, age 86, passed away April 16, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Columbus on September 1, 1929 to Whitney Bowman and Maude Ellen (Taylor) Stout. Raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Tom attained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from The Ohio State University in 1956. He began his teaching career at Purdue University, returning to Columbus in 1960 to teach at Ohio State until he retired in 1999. Tom was a member Alpha Gamma Rho agricultural fraternity and the Boy Scouts of America attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. An avid reader and story teller, his biggest love was his family farm in Stoutsville where he spent his summers as a child and most of his adult years. He is remembered as an admired professor and advisor to many. To his children, he instilled an appreciation for the ancestors who paved the way, the beauty of the world around them, and the skilled workmanship of craftsmen. He is preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle, Edna M. Stout and Wilson S. Dunkel, his first wife, Leona (Lee) Ruth (Martin), his son Ryan Taylor Stout, and nephews Thomas Lee and Steven Dale Huddle. He is survived by his sister, Nina Huddle, his daughters, Kathy (Ted) Thielking, Christine (Kyle) Rooney, Lindsey Marie Stout, his grandchildren, Timothy and Caroline Rooney, his nephew David (Diana) Huddle, and his second wife, Bonnie (Distelhorst) Stout. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Riverside Methodist Hospital for their attentive and unparalleled care. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER CIRCLEVILLE CHAPEL, 151 East Main Street, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
