Lit a candle in memory of Thomas Wayne Wood

I want to take this time to extend my sincere condolences to the your family. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that one day soon Jehovah God will swallow up death forever, and those who have already died will have the opportunity to be resurrected to life in Paradise on earth. (Isaiah 25:8a, John 5:28,29) There is no better feeling than having the chance to embrace someone who you've lost in death at least one more time. That beautiful thought is going to be fulfilled in the future by means of God's Son, Jesus Christ, for he said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." (John 11:25) May these scriptural thoughts bring you a measure of comfort as you reflect on God's future promises of a resurrection in Paradise on 
earth.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a great man.  While I have only known Tom for a brief time, I feel as if I have known him a lifetime.  I am honored to have had the time to known him, experience his smile and wisdom.  I have never met someone who was so sure of where he was going and met it head on with a smile.  My deepest condolences to his family.  My prayers are with you during this time.

Brenda, you have my sympathies and prayers at this sudden loss.  Tom was genuinely a pleasant person and contributed to Tosoh's success for 17 years.  He was also a long time contributor to our Social Activities Committee which has done so much for our employees.  I’m sorry I missed you while at the funeral home Tuesday and hope to see you on another occasion.  Tom will certainly be remembered here.

As a colleague of 7 years I knew Tom as a man committed to Brenda, OSU, golf and his job. While discussing his health in November I was struck when he said he would do whatever the company needed. To hear a person who is facing personal adversity honor their commitments was inspiring... for Tom it was "par for the course". I echo the comments about his smiling face and pleasant demeanor and can't help but think he is today reminding us to enjoy our lives. Below are some words from two of Tom's colleagues in Tokyo.

Tom's smiling face reminds me of my good days in the Ohio office. I sincerely believe he is sleeping with eternal peace of his soul. My condolence is together with his families and fellows. - Yutaka Nakamura

I can not find the way to express my sadness. I worked with Tom in the accounting team and he was always kind to me even when I asked questions. My deepest condolences on his passing. - Toshiyuki Hironaka

Just a week ago I first learned about the courageous battle Tom was waging...and now, one week later, he is gone.  Those left behind to mourn Tom find it hard to understand why God took him away prematurely.

Tom was a trusted colleague and friend.  During my years as Tax Manager at Tosoh, I spent many hours working with Tom to resolve corporate tax issues.  We also shared ideas regarding personal tax clients, sports teams, and an occasional beer or two.

Brenda, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.  Since my wife and I now live in Florida, we cannot be present in Grove City.  However, we will be wearing our OSU colors on Wednesday in honor of Tom.

I don’t have the words to express our sympathy.  We loved Tom and we love you.  The one thing that stands out the most to me is the wonderful relationship you and Tom shared.  The two of you were always smiling at one another.  Before I met Tom, I figured he must be a special guy because you ALWAYS smiled when you talked about him.  I figured right. I knew Tom for only 3 years, but he was one of the first to welcome me with a smile and kind word.  No matter what else was going on, that smile and kind word were present early every morning - Tom was one of the first to arrive at work everyday.  

Tom will be missed !!
