Timothy T. Howard

Timothy "Tim" Thomas Howard, Sr., 80, of Blacklick, passed away on February 28, 2022 in Tavares, Florida. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 6, 1941 to Jess Eugene Howard, Sr. and Joan Rita Howard. In addition to his father, Tim was preceded in death by his siblings, James Howard, Jeffrey Howard, Jess Howard Jr., and Jodi Howard; his daughter, Christina Howard; and granddaughter, Jennifer Howard.

Tim was proud to have been married 59 memorable years to his wife, Carolyn. He was actively involved in many activities with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, family genealogy, and gardening. Tim was an extraordinary minister and a member of the Choir in the Catholic Church; he was also instrumental in the building of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Groveport. Tim worked for 55 years at Jess Howard Electric Company (JHEC) where he managed the Residential Department and retired from his position as Vice President in 2015.

Tim also served on the IEC Board (Independent Electrical Contractors) as Board President and was instrumental in starting the Central Ohio IEC Electrical Apprenticeship Program. He was a member of ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) and served on the Board of Directors, even serving as the Board President at one time. In addition to his great involvement in his community, Tim was also a State of Ohio Electrical Inspector and Educational Instructor. In 2010, he received the well-earned AEC-IEC Good Citizen Award.

Tim will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Carolyn A. (Johnson) Howard; his children, Joseph (Dolores) Stephens, Timothy Jr. (Marianne) Howard, Thomas (Michele) Howard, Ted Howard, Travis (Marci) Howard, Trent (Lynn) Howard, and Cheryl Howard; his mother, Joan Rita Howard; siblings, Jonathan (Jill) Howard, Jill Howard, and sister-in-laws Phyllis Howard and Carla Howard; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 10-11am at ST. MATTHEW THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 807 Havens Corners Rd, Columbus, OH 43230. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. The family invites friends to join them for a luncheon at Church immediately following the Mass from 12-2pm. Entombment to take place after the luncheon at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213.
