Tom R. Garrett

Tom R. Garrett, age 65, of Columbus, died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at his home. He was born June 6, 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio, a son of the late James R. Sr and Mary E. (Ruby) Garrett. Tom was a retired health care specialist with the Ohio Department of PERS. He is survived by sisters and a brother, Deborah L. (Edwin) Templin, James R. Jr. (Sherie) Garrett and Brandon Ruth Rutledge; numerous nieces and nephews; special aunt Rita Kay Lehman and a host of friends from work and the neighborhood. Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Garrett and Sam Garrett; partner, Nick Crabtree and great nephew Lucas Templin. Tom loved to dance and was really good, especially disco. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help someone in need. Funeral Service will be held 1;30 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where family and friends may call from 12:30-1:30 pm Wednesday.
