As of September 20, 2025, Tom Henry Nagel will no longer be participating in his favorite pastimes. Someone else will need to take over the role of “Papa Paw-Paw” and distribute seeds for future trees.
His family; wife, Nancy M. Heath and sons Thomas James Nagel(TJ) and Andrew Scott Heath Nagel(Rew) will need to perpetuate the making of Paw-tinis, Bambi Bulgogi and Sloppy Doe.
Daughters-in- law Annette Durbin Nagel and Lindsay Jones Nagel will take possession of the wild game recipes and White Castle turkey stuffing recipe.
Tom’s brother, Terry Scott Nagel, will continue to create and perform entertaining music.
Sadly, his grandsons Jasper and Henry will miss hearing their grandfather’s quick wit and sharing experiences of kayaking and canoeing.
There will be no formal memorial or funeral. Tom’s cremains will be spread in the locations he most enjoyed. Most definitely this does not include the Franklin County Court House.
Anyone who wishes to do so can make a donation to the Sierra Club. Columbus Folk Music Society or to Dementia research.
