Vernor L. Gallogly

Vernor L. Gallogly, age 85, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011. He was born to the late John and Ruth Gallogly on May 17, 1926 in Sunbury, OH. Vernor was a godly, loving, cheerful, and supportive man. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a B-17 tail gunner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Jefferson and a founding member of Grace Baptist Church in Sunbury, OH. He was an assistant pastor and deacon and he also directed choirs. He retired from DCSC after many years of service. He enjoyed telling stories and being creative. He loved to make greeting cards. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, and photography. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Gallogly. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Gallogly; children, Michael (Dawn) Gallogly, Peggy (Steve) Ledford, Denise (James) Kaufman, and Deborah (Christopher) Wells; sister, Wanita (Charles) Ross;16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, a host of extended family and friends. Friends may call 10-11am Monday, August 1, 2011 at First Baptist Church of West Jefferson, 686 W. Jefferson- Kiousville S.E, West Jefferson, OH 43162, where the service will begin at 11am. Interment will take place at Sunbury Memorial Park at 2:45pm. Pastor Glade May officiating.
