Victoria Prond, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Katherine (Soltys) Krzak.
Victoria grew up in Chicago and furthered her lifelong interest in art by receiving an art education degree from Mundelein College in 1956. Prior to her graduation, she met her late husband, Robert Prond, at a wedding, and sixteen months later they got married at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Chicago in 1955. They spent the early years of their marriage in the Chicago suburbs of Hinsdale and Bensenville, where they began raising their six children and where Victoria taught summer school art and was a substitute teacher. After she and her family moved to Columbus in 1972, Victoria did volunteer work and worked part-time first at a State Farm Insurance Agency and then at a flower shop that she and Bob later purchased.
Victoria and Bob owned Victoria’s Four Seasons Florist in Columbus for over 25 years where she designed floral arrangements for all occasions. An accomplished artist, she met regularly with her art group and sold many paintings, including those displayed in the flower shop. She donated many floral arrangements and paintings for Columbus area charity events. Victoria became a member emeritus of the Zonta Club of Columbus after many years of active participation. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church for over fifty years.
Victoria cherished spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by her children, Kathleen (Rob) Luikart, Lorel Dingee, Paul (Teresa) Prond, Roy (Meredith) Prond, Daniel (Melissa) Prond, and Carol Prond; Grandchildren, Meredith, Robert (Jess), Katherine (Ryan), Joel (Ellen), Valerie (Job), Jonathan (Lorelei), Erica (Juan), Kayla, Emily, Jenifer (Doug), Deirdre (Jay), Emerson and McKenzie; and 12 great-grandchildren.
