

Born in Shanghai, China, he attended elementary school there before his family moved to Taiwan where he finished his schooling. He later completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics from National Taiwan Normal University. After a move to the United States, he received a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Oregon. Then, he earned a PhD in industrial engineering from The Ohio State University. He was a professor of Management Information Science at Wright State University in Dayton, OH, for over 29 years.
He married his undergraduate college sweetie, Bessie Yung-Ku Lee, in Columbus, Ohio, and had one daughter, Ruth. Vincent lived by the phrase “never stop learning.” He taught himself to play guitar, basketball, tennis, and even ice skating. Vincent was constantly surrounded by math books. He could be seen reviewing calculus and the theory of functions and beyond until his last days. He also regularly played tennis into his 80’s. He loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, daughter, Ruth Yen Wong, son-in-law, Benny Wong, and grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew. Vincent leaves his sister, Chia Chih Lee, and brother, Felix Yen. Vincent will be dearly missed.
