Virginia Baker

Virginia Baker, 92, of Gahanna passed away at Zusman Hospice of Columbus, OH June 2nd, 2015 after a longstanding battle with cancer. Virginia was a longtime resident of Gahanna, raising her family with her beloved husband of 47 years, Kenneth C. Baker Sr. Virginia was very active and involved as a lifelong member at Gahanna Community Congregational Church where she was in Women’s Guild, being crowned Mother of the Year in 1999. In her 17 years of service as a Guild member, she helped make peanut brittle and jams which were sold at the church bazaars. She enjoyed crocheting and working puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Virginia is proceeded in death by her loving husband; parents Grant and Rosie (White) Strait, and brother Robert Strait. Virginia is survived by her children; Kenny (Sandy) Baker, Keith (Tracy) Baker; grandchildren, Kathy Baker, Karen Fullen, and Brittany Baker; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jason Sams. Skyler, Walker and Reagen Fullen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH, 43230. Friends may call Thursday, June 4th between 6-9pm. Services will be held Friday, June 5th at 11:00am at Gahanna Community Congregational Church, 470 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Reverend Brian McGookey and Mike Mahan officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gahanna Community Congregational Church.
