

Virginia Thespian (Triffon) Johnson, of Columbus and later Cincinnati, Ohio passed away 27 July 2018 in the presence of God and her family. She was born 4 August 1918 to the late Nick E. and Mary (Axiotis) Triffon. She was a lifelong, faithful member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and owned and operated a local grocery market in Columbus with her husband Gus for over 25 years. Virginia enjoyed cooking, entertaining, travel, fashion, shopping, and coffee, but above all cherished spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Johnson; brothers, Terry N. and Manuel N. and sister Katie Triffon. Virginia is survived by her daughter Marianne (Tom) Jackson, granddaughters Jennifer Jackson and Natasha (Norm) Hazelton; great granddaughter Adelyn "Addie" Hazelton; beloved husband Gus's son James (Carol) Johnson and daughters Janice (Dee) Carroll and Joyce Canino, in addition to their children and grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Triffon, Mary Triffon, and Helen Payne; nieces Nancy (Michael) Long and Cynthia Triffon; cousins Mary Borloglou and George (Pat) Triffon; and many other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and close friends.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Thursday 2 August 2018 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High Street, Columbus.
